Some Democrats haven't given up on Arkansas.
Word comes that Bill Clinton, Dale Bumpers, David Pryor and Mark Pryor will barnstorm the state for Obama. Looks like it might be a fly-around on Saturday. Think they could find a seat for Sen. Lincoln, too?
UPDATE: Add Gov. Mike Beebe to the tour and note that stops are planned in three cities over two days, Friday and Saturday. Details on the jump.
Former President Bill Clinton, Gov. Mike Beebe, Democratic Party of Arkansas Chairman David Pryor, former U.S. Sen. and Gov. Dale Bumpers will campaign in Arkansas this weekend for Sen. Barack Obama and the entire Democratic ticket.
"This roster of Arkansas political lions reflects the power Arkansans can wield when they go to the polls and vote," Governor Mike Beebe said. "The coming together of these history-changing Democrats who have given so much to serve our state and our nation emphasizes the critical importance of this election."
"We're happy that our friends Bill Clinton and Dale Bumpers are returning to Arkansas to campaign for Sen. Barack Obama and the Democratic ticket," said DPA Chairman David Pryor. "Arkansas Democrats are excited about this election. This is the most important election in our lifetime, and these events will only add to the enthusiasm."
The group will be joined by various elected officials, Democratic leaders, and others for a series of get out the vote rallies. They will be in North Little Rock on Friday, Oct. 24, and in Pine Bluff and Jonesboro on Saturday, Oct. 25. The exact times and locations for the events are to be determined.
