Jennings Osborne, the Christmas lights maestro and medical research magnate, filed a lawsuit today complaining that the buyers of his medical research facility hadn't paid him the amount expected in the deal. As I understand it, he got $20 million up front, but expected a further $10 million that was not forthcoming, the suit says.
Stephens financial interests were the purchasers.
I'll have a copy of the lawsuit after a while. He's been threatening the suit for a year or more. I expect his contention will be that his suggestions on operation of the business weren't followed and so results weren't up to expectations of the buyers.
