Remember that Sarah Palin closing quote from Ronald Reagan (delivered in a sing-song, badly off theatric delivery)?
Krugman finds that it came from a speech he gave to stir up doctors' wives to join the fight to block Medicare. Ah, yes. America before Medicare, "when men and women were free" -- to go without health care in their declining years unless they could afford to pay for it.
On a lighter note: Fox News gave her a Couric cleanup interview opportunity today. She recited the Supreme Court cases she'd never heard of when Couric asked. And she also listed her favorite reading material -- New York Times, Wall Street Journalist, the Economist.
What happened with Couric? That damned meanie Couric "filtered" her. Palin wasn't allowed to recite talking points, as with Gwen Ifill.
A heartbeat away. Think about it.
