The Log Cabin Democrat reports on Conway efforts to recruit Hewlett-Packard workers to move from Colorado or Massachusetts to the new H-P facility in Conway, purchased with $45 million or so in corporate welfare.
The story isn't clear. Perhaps some of the Conway C of C travelers can enlighten. Does this mean H-P is cutting jobs at the other sites? Does this mean we're paying H-P to lay off people elsewhere? Oh, who cares, right? It could never happen to us. Just like it wasn't Whirlpool, madly laying off people in Fort Smith, on that list of major state corporate welfare recipients published in the D-G this morning.
