For further good commentary on John McCain’s pick of an abysmally qualified running mate, I turn to Ernie Dumas’ column this week. He writes that the Palin pick illustrates McCain’s dangerous propensity for snap judgments, even if this one should miraculously turn out OK. Often, however, they don’t.
Interestingly, a Democratic Alaska legislator — someone who’s worked with and likes Palin and offers a fair amount of praise for her political skills — comes to a similar conclusion about the pick. He writes that she’s not qualified and the choice says a lot about McCain’s judgment.
