UPDATE: Here it is, Max.
No link is currently available, but I see the hubbub continues in the Democrat-Gazette over the sculpture installed in front of the new federal courthouse on Capitol Avenue.
I'm awaiting Leslie Newell Peacock's assessment of the work before I jump to any conclusions, but I will recall a similar outcry over the purchase of the Standing Figure: Knife Edge for the Metrocentre Mall some years back. The joke then was that it must have been done by the Razorback Henry Moore, not the other guy.
Hey, Leslie, how about a photo here? Anyway, I do have this thought: Wise and learned and wonderful as are all the federal bench sitters in Little Rock, I do think I'm not ready to turn over sculptural veto power to them. The GSA has a process. I say let's follow it rather than the whims of federal judges. Bush appointees would be good for nothing but strictly representational depictions of heroes like Kenneth Starr and Jesse Helms, perhaps carrying rifles. Democrats, who knows? One of them might install a bronze mule out there. Not that there would be anything wrong with that.
