After an executive session and final round of interviews lasting a good part of the day, the Little Rock Airport Commission
has selected Ronald Mathieu
as the airport's new executive director. He was chosen over two other finalists. His pay will be set in coming contract negotiations.
Mathieu has served as deputy executive director at the airport since January 2006, and took up the reins as interim executive director in December 2007 with the resignation of former director Deborah Schwartz
On Mathieu's plate in coming years: a $100 million dollar terminal expansion, not to mention keeping an increasingly jittery airline industry interested in flying routes to and from lil' 'ol Little Rock.
