Not only is it free, but it is just steps away from a main entrance on the North Little Rock side of the river.
Yes, there's a catch. It's a lot set up for bike riders by Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas. It's a move to encourage families to bike to the 'fest.
Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas (BACA) will offer the 1st FREE Parking opportunity for area cyclists during the Riverfest weekend Saturday, May 24 and Sunday May 25, 2008 beginning at the scheduled event start times. Progressive families and individuals riding bicycles to the Riverfest event are encouraged to reach the FREE Bicycle Parking location at the North Little Rock City Services parking lot just 50 feet East of a Riverfest ticket entrance in Faucet Park at the Main St & Washington Avenue intersection.
No other options exist for free, convenient and rapid access to a Riverfest entrance. Although cyclists cannot ride their bicycles past the ticket entrances to Riverfest, they can access the FREE Bicycle Parking location by several routes. 1) By riding South on North Magnolia & Alltel Arena Way then West on East 2nd st to the North Little Rock City Services Parking Lot. 2) Cross the Union Pacific Railroad on Main st, right on West 8th street, South on Willow St, left on West 2nd Street, cross Maple and Main st.
Visitors on bicycles are encouraged to park cars several miles away from the event and access the FREE Bicycle Parking in downtown North Little Rock by bicycle
