Regrets, he'll have a few

Mike Huckabee says Gov. Mike Beebe will come to regret closing the state's office in Washington, D.C. Some more specifics of the office's activity would be welcome to support that position. Of course, it's also true that the D.C. office was no more secretive than the Little Rock office of the governor has been forever, in all administrations.

Once more on my pet peeve: Gubernatorial records should not be given blanket secrecy. They should not become the private property of the governor. They should be archived and eventually available for public study, with proper privacy protection of intensely personal material, after a reasonable period of time. Other states do this. Why not us?
