Word comes of a lawsuit brought today
on behalf of Little Rock police officers
claiming they are entitled to overtime pay
for the time spent putting on and taking off required protective gear and equipment each day. A spokesman for the attorney filing the suit said the time at issue was roughly 50 minutes to an hour daily. Across the force, at time and a half, that could add up over the course of a year, almost a 4 percent increase in payroll for those officers covered. Similar lawsuits have been filed successfully around the country.
