The bad: Our apologies for the intermittent service interruptions of the last couple of days. We are aware and working on it. Some bugs in new website software seem the likely explanation.
The good: Regular readers know that our little site frequently jumps out ahead of important news developments, though the Democrat-Gazette staff outnumbers us by something like 250 to 1. the daily newspaper is hampered, of course, by not following a 24-hour web news cycle.
But notice Page One Democrat-Gazette news today, Tuesday, that Library Director Bobby Roberts will likely institute a hiring freeze and probably file his own lawsuit to resolve questions about whether a new library property tax can be collected this year. The Arkansas Blog reported that Saturday afternoon.
Likewise, the D-G today, Tuesday, on 1B, dug into Democratic Party Chair Bill Gwatney’s remonstrance of Democratic legislators for helping Republicans raise money. The Arkansas Blog first broke news of the crossover campaign help. Then, Saturday, Stephens Media columnist John Brummett broke news of the Gwatney letter, another bit of news (along with rising House Speaker Robbie Will’s pained response), that the Arkansas Blog posted Saturday morning.
Regular readers know all this. But, please, tell your friends. The more readers and commenters, the more tips come our way.
Thanks for reading, even when it is frustrating because of software glitches.
