John G. Williams, who took the architecture program at the U of A from two courses within the School of Engineering into a school of its own died today. He was 92.
According to a press release from the University, Williams hired Fay Jones and brought Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Eames, Eero Saarinen, Buckminster Fuller and Edward Durrell Stone to the UA to lecture and critique work.
A graveside service will be held Sunday. The family requests that gifts be made in Williams' memory to the John G. Williams Traveling Scholarship at the School of Architecture.
