A New York Times editorial today gives a kind word to U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor’s consumer product safety work.
That, in a roundabout way, reminds me that primary election filing begins today. Will Pryor survive without even token opposition (apart from the announced Green Party candidate)? And Reps. Vic Snyder, Marion Berry, Mike Ross and John Boozman?
UPDATE: A little weird, I think, but the state Democratic Party has issued a pre-emptive news release outlining some of the nutty things fringe Republican Tom Formicola has said in past unsuccessful Republican primary races for federal office. He’s threatened to run against Pryor this year. He’d let the Federal Reserve take charge of lowering and raising taxes, for example. Somebody like Formicola isn’t going to be dissuaded from making Pryor spend money by a Dem. Party news release, I’d guess.
