Shame on you. Some of you read the Arkansas Blog but not the print and on-line edition of the Arkansas Times.
If that were not so, I wouldn't have just gotten an e-mail saying former Republican legislator Phil Wyrick was running for Pulaski County judge. That was reported in this week's Insider column, posted on the web last night and now in print editions at boxes near you. You might look, too, for good articles on the deadly Toughman contest, which operates under loose rules in Arkansas thanks to effective lobbying by its promoter, and on the 49-years-ago fire in a reform school for black youths that claimed 21 lives.
Wyrick's campaign is all about expanding the capacity of the County Jail and I suspect he'll have some well-chosen words about county financial management the last few years as well. Hard for me to argue with either of those larger points.
