Noted: A boolmet boomlet of conservative voices calling for Mike Huckabee to forsake his presidedntial quest and oppose U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor. He has until March 10.
Meanwhile, he had his moment on “Saturday Night Live” last night. See above. (The joke was that he stayed on the set despite repeated cues that it was time for him to go)
UPDATE: What’s this all about — meaning Huck’s reluctance to leave a race he seems unlikely to win? Jonathan Martin at Politico writes that there’s always tomorrow, including even 2012. After all, as Ed Rollins indelicately hints, even if John McCain is elected, he’s so old, he might croak. Huckabee supporter Tim Hutchinson thinks it’s all to the good for Huck’s future:
“The Republican Party has been kind to second-place finishes in the past,” Hutchinson said. “He’s a young man. And he’s run the kind of race that has not burned bridges or torn apart the party.”
