We mentioned Lisa Burks election day. She's the activist who's fought touch-screen voting machines but did lobby successfully for a paper verification trail for all voting machines.
Her touch-screen voting machine in Conway malfunctioned Tuesday and she raised sand. The Election Commission chairman agrees that it's likely that the paper audit function didn't work on all the votes cast on the machine. CORRECTION: Razorback correctly notes that I misread a sentence this morning and that the chairman was referring to the single machine, not all of them. His assurances that the vote was still cast doesn't reassure Burks or me, however. Without an audit, how could we possibly know?
They must go.
