The Iconoclast has a good post
about the vote by the Fayetteville City Council
last night to rename a street in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
There was a ton of opposition, from Wal-Mart
and others. The cost of the address change, don't you know. A Republican activist promised to keep calling it Sixth Street. Mayor Dan Coody
hasn't committed on whether he'll veto the resolution. The blog says you won't find any streets named for King anywhere else in that neck of the woods. Nor many people who look much like King either.
