When your youngest is 22, Christmas doesn't start early, except for the old fogey of the house who gets up at 5 or so regardless of the day. We'll rouse the young ones around 8 or so. It appears to be a slow news day. Time to cook.
Come mid-afternoon: Champagne and cheese straws. Shrimp cocktail, relish tray, rib roast, potatoes romanov, peas and mushrooms, homemade rolls, Stilton and something runny and smelly from France, trifle, figgie pudding with hard sauce, coffee. Nap.
