An energized publicity campaign that includes a New York publicist and major celebrity support (Natalie Maines will be in Little Rock this week) are now part of the machinery at work for the West Memphis Three, in addition to a high-powered legal team with new circumstantial evidence that argues against their guilt in the 1993 West Memphis killings of three children.
Brummett argues today that the Three, later rater than sooner, inevitably will be released. At a minimum, you’d think, sufficient evidence exists to prevent the execution of Damien Echols. This, I think, is where the publicity campaign is vitally important.
