The wonders of the web. I just stumbled across what appears to be a quite thorough job of reporting how then Gov.-Mike Huckabee worked around legal limitations to get a building for a Mexican consulate in Little Rock. It includes an interview with developer Bruce Burrow of Jonesboro (he and his wife were appointed to state boards by Huckabee), who did the project for no profit, and details on $50,000 supplied by the city and $10,000 supplied by the state to defray costs.
We're tickled to have the consulate in Little Rock, by the way, though Rep. Rick Green, quoted in the article, and many others on the fringes are not.
(OK, this article is from the ultra-conservative World Net Daily, home of the Chuck Norris column, but unless they manufactured all the Bruce Burrow quotes, it includes some details I haven't read before.)
