Even on a cold, gray day, it's hard to beat the river's eye-view of the Chicago skyline from various points along the 90-minute architectural tour of the Chicago Architectural Society. Highly recommended. Also the Sunday brunch at North Pond. It's a former lodge for warming skaters in Lincoln Park. It's been refurbished in stunning arts-and-crafts style, with a cozy fireplace, a view of the pond and a $32, three-course Sunday brunch menu by a prize-winnng "slow food" chef. Choices included squash soup with goat cheese, french toast with caramelized pheasant, mushroom tart, rainbow trout, pear upside down cake, pumpkin mousse and many more.
