A Fayetteville web surfer turns up this interesting link. Remember the underage woman whose deep desire for a marriage license before she turned 18 next month became a test case in Benton County for a successful challenge of corrections to the marital consent law by the Code Revision Commission?
If correct, this blog suggests she WAS MARRIED in a religious ceremony BEFORE the suit was filed and before the license applied for. Hmmmm. Little Tim Hutchinson, you have some 'splainin' to do. Not to mention the "man of God" who represented that the marrige was on the up-and-up.
Some people think this whole legal test was a put-up job that had little to do with the minimum age to marry and a lot to do with Republican unhappiness with the Code Revision Commission. It's all starting to make my head hurt.
