Please note that the victim of the crime that prompted so much discussion last night has now added a comment to the thread. I wrote him earlier today to call the thread to his attention and encouraged him to answer the questions posed. He’s done so. He didn’t mention in this note, but he did to me, that he’d sent the piece I posted to about 20 friends. Two of them — his parents — asked him if it was fiction. Maybe hoping it was.
