Political theater

Oh my golly, it's deja vu all over again. The Pander Bear of 1992 is returning.

News release from Arkansas GOP Chair Dennis "What we need is another 9/11" Milligan says the Pander Bear will be on hand with other Republican storm troopers to protest outside Hillary Clinton's campaign office opening this afternoon IN LR. News release on the jump.

Paul Tsongas, who invented the Pander Bear gimmick to use against another Clinton, cannot be on hand to protest the appropriation of his idea.

LITTLE ROCK—Hillary Clinton couldn’t be bothered to personally come to Arkansas to launch her Little Rock campaign office tonight, but there will be another special guest there to remind Arkansans that the liberal Senator from New York’s White House files are still not open for public viewing: the Pander Bear!

“Millions of pages of Clinton Administration documents remain locked down in ‘Little Rock’s Fort Knox.’  But one thing Hillary can’t hide is her liberal record as New York’s junior Senator and her plans for bigger government and higher taxes,” said Republican Party of Arkansas Chairman Dennis Milligan.

Clinton promised that her husband’s library in Little Rock “will be a place where everyone can study and everything will be available.” (CNN's “Larry King Live,” 11/17/04)

However, millions of pages of Hillary’s own documents are being locked down in what’s being referred to as “Little Rock's Fort Knox.” (Glenn Thrush, "Clinton Archive A Tough Request," [New York] Newsday, 3/19/07)

Luckily, the Pander Bear will be on hand to help remind Arkansans that “nearly 2 million pages of documents covering [Hillary’s] White House years are locked up in a building here, obscuring a large swath of her record as First Lady.” (Peter Nicholas, “Clinton's First Lady Records Locked Up,” Los Angeles Times, 8/14/07)
