The county clerk’s office said the deed was recorded today for the purchase of University Mall by a Dallas developer who plans to raze the failed mall and build a new Park Avenue retail center. Price: $21 million. The price may have been offset by whatever deal the developer worked out with Simon Property Group to end the years remaining on its lease and meet its court-ordered obligation — now moot — to spend almost $8 million on mail mall rehab work.
