The struggling school will be getting almost $750,000 in federal grant money from the Department of Education's Smaller Learning Communities program. It'll pay for the school to form three "academies" for ninth- and tenth-graders that will connect them to internships and allow for more personalized instruction and support, according to a press release, and it will also fund a dual enrollment program so students can take classes at UALR while still in high school.
