After a 13-year tenure, Deborah Schwartz is out as executive director at Little Rock National Airport. The Airport Commission unanimously accepted Schwartz’ resignation and a yet-to-be-disclosed transition agreement this morning after a short executive session. Her resignation will be effective on November 30.
Today’s executive session was the third this year dealing with Schwartz’ performance as executive director. Airport Commission chairman Larry Lichty and other commissioners refused to comment on the details of the split, including whether the resignation was initially suggested by Schwartz or the board.
Asked where she will go from here, Schwartz said that she might seek other employment in the airport industry, but is keeping her options open. Given that her daughter is currently a senior at Little Rock Central High, Schwartz said she will definitely remain in Little Rock in the short term.
