This story is stirring a lot of comment in western Arkansas, but little in Little Rock media, for some reason.
But KHBS/KHOG reports here that Pulaski Prosecutor Larry Jegley has been named as a special prosecutor to investigate a "mentally challenged" woman's report to police that she was raped by Ron Fields, a former Sebastian County prosecutor who also served briefly by appointment as Arkansas attorney general. Fields has not been arrested or charged and is not commenting on the allegation. Prosecutor Gunner Delay asked that a special prosecutor be named. Here's a Fort Smith newspaper link, too.
This report reminds me that I never heard a resolution of the probe that saw Fields suspended from a federal Homeland Security job he'd landed thanks to Asa Hutchinson. He wasn't charged in that, clearly, but there never was an explanation about it all, either.
