A group known as Garland County Good Government has announced a press conference today on " the epidemic proportions of the escalating crime rate in Hot Springs and in Arkansas."
UPDATE: Here's an overview of the group's news conference. They say Hot Springs is now the state's violent crime rate leader. (Is Stodola paying this group to do this, or what?) Here also are some stats. The group's point would seem to be objections to other city spending -- official travel and new city offices rather than public safety.
City officials will respond that the crime rate dropped between 2005 and 2006.
