I'm told that a few technicalities remain to be finished in completing the contract buyout agreement reached yesterday between Superintendent Roy Brooks and the Little Rock School Board. So no check has been cut. The $635,000 total, including a bodacious $193,000 for Williams & Anderson's attorney fees (lunch, anyone? I'll have my girl arrange it, but it'll cost you), remains intact.
I'm also told that the Board will hear only preliminary outlines Thursday of a contract for Linda Watson, the incoming interim superintendent. Mike Moore, the Friday firm lawyer working on the contract for the School Board, said it is far from final form. I'm hoping to have the working documents shortly, fax willing. (Sorry, the superintendent's office, which supposedly had the documents to give to me, didn't fax them before my departure at 5:30. Or call to say I could pick them up. Maybe tomorrow.)
