Ron Williams of Springdale, senior partner in the Rogers firm of Williams and Hutchinson and for 16 years a vice president and assistant general counsel at Wal-Mart, has announced his candidacy for the Court of Appeals seat held by the late Judge Terry Crabtree. His news release notes: "At Wal-Mart, he was responsible for all personal injury and employment litigation across the country." State Rep. Donna Hutchinson adds, "I know that Ron's judicial philosophy is in line with Arkansas."
Benton County, for sure.
UPDATE: Somehow, we have a feeling we might find more to our liking the judicial philosophy in Washington County. That's where you'll find another candidate for this seat, Bill Jones. He's a deputy prosecutor, military vet and has also been a public defender.
Also, a Fayetteville legal light tells me Courtney Henry (daughter-in-law of Morriss and Ann Henry), another Fayetteville lawyer with experience clerking on the court of appeals, may run for the seat.
The court seat covers Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Madison and Washington Counties
