This just in from Kathy Wells of the Downtown Neighborhood Association:
Mayor Mark Stodola confirmed today that he will vote NO on the proposed expansion of the BFI landfill on Mabelvale Pike that is pending before the Pulaski Co. Solid Waste Board. Stodola and the other mayors, plus the county judge, compose this Board, which must approve a permit before BFI could add garbage to the existing landfill. A formal vote is set for Aug. 30 at 9 a.m. DNA has written the Board opposing the expansion, citing the nuisance this represents to nearby residents.
Will other mayors and the county judge, a resident of Little Rock, vote to allow expansion of a garbage dump in the city?
