A diet news website (now there's a growth niche) posts an item speculating on whether Mike Huckabee had surgical assistance -- whether bypass surgery or a less invasive procedure such as lapband -- in his huge weight loss. He's said he used only the UAMS weight loss program -- severely restricted intake in the beginning, coupled with exercise.
Those who've kept off lost pounds after this regimen seem to be the exception rather than the rule. But Huckabee has doggedly stuck with the important exercise component and he need not worry about empty beer and wine calories, being a non-drinker. Perhaps when he's president he'll release full medical records, as has been customary, and put the speculation to rest once and for all. And, I guess, a reader's question about plastic surgery for a few nips and tucks after the weight loss.
