Public art in NLR

Argenta News has a good discussion going on public art, specifically the idea of painting traffic control boxes in North Little Rock as has been done here. The photo is from the website, operated by Scott Miller.

As you'll see, folks take the Argenta Historic District very seriously.

It prompts this comment to us from local artist V.L. Cox (she did not do the art in question):

I personally am shocked at these blogs.  This such a shame, but typical of the Argenta area.  You cannot sneeze these days without some resident or renter screaming about it and falling back on the historic district expansion.  Everything from Fat Boys restaurant not being a 'legal' restaurant to public art being painted over in the middle of the night that didn't get the renters' and residents' "approval" or vote.  How sad. Nothing wrong with being a little cautious, but too many art and food critics will soon spoil the town that is being touted at "An Arts Community."
