Sens. Pryor and Lincoln made it clear today they're with U.S. automakers on dragging out improvement in fuel economy standards as long as possible. Environmentalists say Pryor and Lincoln are voting with the auto industry over popular sentiment and the Arkansas Municipal League. Do tell.
I'm with Harry Reid on this one:
"The time has come to speak for the American people not three car manufacturers that are closing plants and laying off people," Reid said at a news conference on electric vehicles, referring to General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co., and DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group.
