The D-G devoted a pile of newsprint today to the question of whether parents would leave the LR School District because the superintendent has been removed. Precious little solid evidence was turned up, but the spin was in favor of disaster -- exodus and loss of financial support. Headline: "LR district tension has calls up at private schools."
The pro-disaster spin was not surprising given the newspaper's postion on the matter of Roy Brooks. (Brooks good/crtiics bad.) But credit at least one quote from a rational parent who asked why in the world she'd remove a child from a school that's worked well for her family because there's a new person in an office downtown? I wouldn't have taken MY kids out of school when the board picked Brooks, as bad a choice as he's proven to be.
