I see this morning that Judge G. Thomas Eisele dismissed Little Rock School Superintendent Roy Brooks’ lawsuit against School Board members yesterday, over Brooks’ objection. There’s the little matter of a lack of cause for action at this point. But there’s nothing to prevent him from suing again if the firing hearing proceeds as scheduled May 30 and Katherine Mitchell and Michael Daugherty vote to fire him. (And it sounds as if Brooks’ lawyers are dragging their feet to the extent possible. They still haven’t agreed to a hearing officer, apparently.)
But .. I continue to hear a buzz about behind-the-scene talks to resolve this issue. A buyout of the controversial superintendent’s contract would be the obvious option. People are talking, I’m assured. We’ll see.
