MIKE BEEBE NEWS RELEASE
ENGLAND, ARKANSAS -- England OilField Services Inc. will build a manufacturing facility in England, Arkansas, creating 175 jobs with an average hourly wage of $18. The 33,000-square-foot facility will be built on ten acres in the England Industrial Park.
To assist England with infrastructure for the new facility, Governor Mike Beebe presented city leaders with a Community Development Block Grant of $1,337,580. The grant will fund water lines, sewer lines and road improvements for the England Industrial Park.
"The strongest roots for lasting economic development are formed when local and state leaders work together with companies to provide the resources to create quality jobs," Beebe said. "By building at home, England OilField is providing opportunities that will have a positive impact on this community for years to come."
In addition to manufacturing field equipment for natural-gas and oil drilling, England OilField will offer steel blasting, painting, welding and electrical services to the oil industry. Companies doing business in Arkansas’s Fayetteville Shale region will be the primary customers of England OilField. The company hopes to begin production by late 2007.
"England OilField could have chosen to locate anywhere, but England is home and has a great quality of life," said Roger Bailey, Secretary and Treasurer of England OilField Services, Inc. "I know the area workforce will be the perfect fit for our growing company."
"The City of England is proud to welcome England OilField Services," said Maynard. "We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the company over the coming years."
