They had a to-do at the Chamber of Commerce today to announce that construction will begin June 4 on converting the Junction Bridge
to a paved pedestrian/bike path with lights and two elevators. (This is the former railroad bridge that spans the Arkansas River beginning at the foot of Rock Street.) It won't be nearly so grand as once envisioned, on account of price constraints, but a paint job should spiff it up and make a usable link between Little Rock and North Little Rock. They passed out an artist's sketch, but it's so much grander than reality that we won't pass it along.
