Congress inexorably grinds on, turning up still more important people to question on the developing case that the Bush administration planned to take over the Justice Department, without Senate confirmation where necessary (as in Little Rock), to politicize the department with only true-believer Republicans and use them to prosecute low-level vote fraud cases to hold down minority turnout. If lying about a blowjob is a high crime and misdemeanor, this is a capital offense. This was Karl Rove's scheme for a permanent Republican government, of course. And his former aide, Tim Griffin, was part of the mosaic.
With G.W. Bush's numbers at 28 percent, however, that 1,000-year Reich isn't looking so promising.
