Little Rock School Board President Katherine Mitchell said Monday she hopes to call a special meeting this week to continue the discussion that ended without resolution Friday night.

A majority of the board is believed ready to end Superintendent Roy Brooks’ employment. The board met twice last week without resolving the issue. Once, the absence of a member delayed in traffic prevented a session. The board met for almost three hours Friday night without a decision. Mitchell said the board had received legal advice that two days’ notice should have been given for the meeting.

The School Board has an agenda meeting Thursday, but Mitchell will be away that day. She said she was working Monday to get a special meeting set on another day this week, presumably Wednesday.
