Driving past Episcopal Collegiate School today I was reminded of a tidbit of news: There are widespread reports, which the school won't confirm, that the school, which now offers grades 6-12, is going to add elementary grades.
This inevitably recalls some of church turmoil that ensued when the idea was first floated to establish an Episcopal secondary school. Some opposed the move. There could be a present-day stir involving potential implications for the 50-year-old Cathedral School, which serves K-5 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Will it merge with Collegiate, providing a base for a new elementary school? Or will it remain independent and face competition for a similar recruiting pool? We'll let you know if anybody ever decides to return a call on the subject.
