The NY Times continues to pursue the Justice Department's ouster of U.S. attorneys around the country to replace them with political cronies or people less likely to pursue corruption investigations against Republicans. Not much new really, except that, despite suggestions to the contrary, job performance doesn't seem a valid reason for the dismissials.
But we note, again, that the NY Times continues to assert that Tim Griffin, installed for the ousted Bud Cummins in Little Rock, is a "temporary" appointment. Right. The plan is for Karl Rove's henchman to stay in command of the office until the end of the Bush term in January 2009.
