A reader notes a story in the Batesville Guard yesterday that reported the Batesville Airport Commission had voted by e-mail to increase its offer on some land the airport had been seeking to buy.
Voted by e-mail? Can they do that? I thought all actions of public bodies, to be legal, had to be done in public session with a public vote. Was the public notified of this e-mail meeting? And even if so, how did the public listen in?
Not a promising development in the annals of public accountability.
