MOSES TUCKER NEW RELEASE
Moses Tucker Real Estate and McKibbon Hotel Group, Inc. of Georgia, announced today details of the planned hotel that will be included as part of River Market Place, downtown Little Rock’s newest urban neighborhood development.
Construction of the elegant eight-story Hampton Inn & Suites is scheduled to begin this summer and will include 119 total rooms with a significant number of upscale suites. According to McKibbon Group Vice President of Acquisitions Wes Townson, the hotel will be comparable to the Hampton Inn and Suites at Peabody Place in Memphis, a similar upscale hotel built among a mixed-use facility.
The McKibbon Group has worked with Moses Tucker previously on the development of First Security Center’s Courtyard by Marriott, also located in Little Rock’s River Market District. The River Market Place Hampton Inn & Suites will be developed in a similar way. Hampton Inn and Suites is a product of the Hilton brand.
“We’re obviously big fans of downtown Little Rock,” Townson said. “We have collaborated with Jimmy and Rett before, and we are extremely excited about what this very strong brand will bring to River Market Place.”
Unveiled in November of last year, Moses Tucker Principals Jimmy Moses and Rett Tucker announced plans for the $80 million, 500,000 square-foot mixed-use development River Market Place – the largest development in Little Rock’s history – which also includes 152 condominiums and retail space River Market Tower. Moses said the hotel will enhance the retail and residential elements of the project.
“Little Rock already knows the high quality to expect from The McKibbon Group because of the exceptional work they’ve done with the Courtyard by Marriott,” Moses said. “Their commitment to Little Rock has contributed to the prosperity and the growth of downtown, and their involvement in this current project is another step toward the establishment of a true urban neighborhood.”
River Market Tower will be Moses Tucker Real Estate’s fourth major mixed-use development downtown in the past five years. Other projects include the “Capital Commerce Center” (2002), “First Security Center” (2004), and the “300 Third Tower” (nearing completion). All four projects total an approximate investment of $162 million to the River Market District.
With the addition of River Market Place, Moses Tucker Real Estate has added 58 stories of residential and retail property and 240 hotel rooms to the downtown Little Rock skyline since 2002. The lower floors of River Market Tower will be called “The Lofts at River Market Place,” with prices that begin at $218,000, while floors 12-17 will be called “The Residences,” priced at $250,000 and up.
