Advocates for the homeless held a free breakfast this morning at City Hall -- unannounced so no city bureaucrats would spoil the event -- as a demonstration of unhappiness with the city's effort to deal with homeless issues. That's former state Rep. Robert Johnston carrying the flag. We'll have some more on this in days ahead. Matilda Buchanan, another of the group that has been serving meals to homeless, was particularly upset today with the city's choice of a former city code enforcement officer to head the city's homeless effort. The advocates said the city passed up a person with experience working with the homeless.
