Our old colleague Ginger Shiras covers Berryville like the dew for the Harrison newspaper and we see today she’s onto a corker.

It seems that parents have complained about a bullying teacher. It seems that the teacher is the wife of the Berryville school superintendent, Mike Cox. It further seems that the superintendent has an issue with the spokesman for the aggrieved parents, a man who, when he was known as Richard Schoeninger 20 years ago, described himself as the anarchist mayor of Eureka Springs when he posed nude (but strategically shielded by rock outcroppings) for an Arkansas Times photograph of the summer pleasures in his part of the world.

Sayeth the super:

“We don’t need a former mayor from Eureka Springs whose claim to fame is posing nude in a magazine to come over to Berryville and tell us how to run our schools,” said Berryville School Superintendent Mike Cox.

Sayeth Richard Schoe:

“I tell people I was known as the bare mayor, but I’ve traded that rock for the rock of salvation — for Jesus Christ,” Schoe replied. “Maybe Mr. Cox should try getting saved and find out what righteousness is,” Schoe said. “It’s interesting that he would seek to attack me rather than find the truth.”
