The Northwest edition of the Democrat-Gazette did an extensive bit of reporting that I didn't see in the LR paper (I now have seen it in Monday paper) on Rogers' Mayor Steve Womack's desire to target the Latino community for police enforcement. It's not racial profiling, oh no. An interesting squib in this article is a different accounting of drug crimes in Rogers than we'd seen earlier. Though Latinos account for about a third of Rogers' population, illegal immigrants accounted for about a sixth of the city's serious drug charges (31 of 190 since Jan. 1, 2005), not nearly half, as an earlier count indicated.
