I'm with Doug Thompson. Something is wrong with the vote tabulating in Benton County. No way they had an 83 percent turnout in a non-presidential year. Somebody needs to get to the bottom of this.
I'm happy to see Democratic activist and former candidate Robyn Tumey is on the case. The Morning News indicates they've found one precinct with a turnout of more than 100 percent of registered voters. The election coordinator apparently has turned to ES&S, the thoroughly unreliable overseer of the state's new electronic vote system, to try to get to the bottom of what's going on.
Book it. 83 percent of the voters did not turn out in Benton County. I don't begin to think this is crooked dealing even if the highly suspect retabulation of votes cost a Democrat a JP seat. I think something is wrong in the software and the blending of electronic and other machines in Benton County. But it scares the heck out of me writ large across the state and nation. Imagine, for a second, if the retabulation -- which doubled Asa Hutchinson's vote total -- spelled the difference in the governor's race.
