Speaking of subjects more important than the Foley scandal:
The death toll -- more than 2,700 -- is only part of the story of the U.S. military in Iraq. The count of wounded is also staggering. According to the Department of Defense, 776 military personnel were wounded in action in September, the highest number since November 2004 and the fourth highest any month of the war, dating back to March 2003. Total U.S. wounded in action: Nearing 21,000. Iraqi deaths are estimated at perhaps 20 times those of U.S. forces.
